Apivar® 2.0 Varroa Mite Treatment Strips

Apivar® 2.0 is the next generation of Apivar, developed to control varroa mites more quickly while using less amitraz. It delivers a strong mite drop early in treatment, helping reduce pressure on the colony sooner rather than later.

Apivar 2.0 is designed for use when bees are actively moving in the hive, making it a good choice for both spring and fall treatments. There are no temperature restrictions during application.

The redesigned strips are easy to use and work with common hive equipment. They can be folded for shorter frames, such as Langstroth, or hung from the top bar on taller frames.

There is no honey withholding period. Honey supers may be added immediately after strips are removed.

How to Use

• Apply 1 strip per 5 frames of bees in each brood chamber
• Leave strips in place for 6–10 weeks
• Remove after 6 weeks if no brood is present
• Leave in for the full 10 weeks if brood is present
• Place strips in the center of the brood nest, with both sides accessible to bees

Tip: Midway through treatment, scrape off wax and propolis and reposition strips to maintain good bee contact.
